What sounds like magic is a systematic approach combining things I learned from project management, SW and HW architecture, and psychology. I share some of my insights and metaphors so you get not just the methodology, but also the intuition.

Constant optimization is an iterative process. The steps are very simple, easy to learn and implement. Yet there are many tradeoffs and many things can go wrong. So I try to be as systematic as I can, providing industrial examples and step by step analysis. 

As you have control of the process and can enjoy creative outbreaks, the stress level is reduced. I think the burnouts are prevented - at least I never had a burnout since I started to work correctly.

I have three small kids, a full-time day job as a lead developer in a startup company, a successful blog and courses which I need to maintain, and several demanding hobbies. Somehow I find time for everything and do not work too hard. If I can do this, so can you.
